I was running down the Brooklyn sidewalk, late for work at the Coca-Cola factory, and one man caught my attention. He looked young around his early 20’s, hip, and cool. He was walking in a cool type of way; the way you walk when you have a limp. But what really caught my attention was his facial area. He looked odd compared to everyone else. The young man’s hair was as bright as the sun. Like a yellow that blinds you and his eyes were as blue as the Pacific Ocean. I wanted to study the strange man longer but I was already late for work. Later on during the day, I saw the strange man walk along side with my boss. The picture traumatized me. Was the strange man applying for a job at the Coca- Cola factory? Is he even eligible to work at a factory? I had a plethora of questions in my head. My boss ceased talking to the strange man and turned to the crowd of employees who was staring at my boss and the strange man. The boss announced that the man, whose name is Skai, is working at the factory. Skai was wearing some nice clothes, they looked very expensive, and it looked like he loved to set trends and his attitude towards the employees was calm, soothing, and nice. It was lunch break and I decided to introduce myself to Skai, so I gladly sat with him during lunch and introduced myself as Jack. I had learned a lot about Skai. He lives in an apartment, he’s single with no kids, and he attended LSU and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. I am pleased to say that Skai became one of my best friends. But little did I know, he had a dark secret. Later, Skai invited me to his apartment to watch a football game with him. I agreed and headed over to his place before 9p.m. As I arrived and knocked on the door I heard a loud noise in his apartment, almost like a bang. A short time later Skai opened the door. His face looked as happy as ever. He invited me in and we sat on the couch with some lemon peppered wings, Lays potato chips, and a 12 pack of Mountain Dew. It was nice to have a friend to actually invite me into his home. Towards the end of the game, I heard a loud panting sound in the back towards the bathroom. At this point I was worried and asked him if he heard anything. he replied with a “no.” As I believed him, I minded my own business. Minutes later the game was over and we were both talking about the highlights of the game. The I said goodbye and left his apartment. The next morning I woke up to breaking news on the television about a fire breaking out at an apartment complex. I was shocked, and headed down there to check it out. The fire was massive when I arrived. All I could do was stand there and watch and hope Skai’s safety. I asked the chief of police what happened, and the Chief told me that the guy named “Skai” was actually a man named Marcus Kingston and he was an alleged criminal involved in 3 murder cases and 2 bank robberies. At this point I was in a melee position, the position where you can’t move, can’t think straight and sweating. Minutes passed and “Skai” couldn’t be found and was probably dead. I didn’t know whether to be glad or what. All I could do is take the day off of work and go home and become a slugabed. The next day started as a typical day for me, I still had memories of Skai, but they were fading, I was in an excited position because the boss of the company was going to announce the new employee of the month, so I left from home early and started walking to work, and there was something strange I saw when I was walking. I saw a man with yellow hair as bright as the sun with blue eyes, he was walking one way I was walking the other. As we were about to pass, the whole world slowed down in my mind. My eyes were wide open, I was sweating, and was nervous. The man that looked so much like Skai held his head down as he walked by and made a “tsk” noise. Next thing I remember I was on the ground laying in a pool of blood unable to move my body and was gasping for air. As I was laying in the hospital, facing Dr. Rezjock, I realized my so called friend had paralyzed me.
